anime expo 2011

happy fourth!

anime expo 2011 is finally over and it was definitely a cool experience! saw tons of cosplayers and saw stl and songbird ocarinas all in the same building! very cool. now that aexpo is over i can finally get back to developing my ocarinas and lately i've been experimenting with "air-shields" or more commonly known as "baffles". i've had ok success and i think the addition is still negligible but i'm going to keep experimenting to find the right setup. well anyways hopefully things work out properly!

been awhile..

almost there!

well its been awhile since i last blogged and thats probably due to the fact that i've been trying to juggle soooo many things at once. like 8 holes, 12 holes, and some other special ocarinas... that on top of finding the right concentrations of glazes and such, its beginning to be too much for a few people to handle.

luckily though, i do have 2 people helping with stuff which is good, but it would be nice if i can just be in two places at one time.

so anyways, look forward to new things and expect them to be released simultaneously, if not then at least close to each other!

sincerely,

2011!!!

Thank you to everyone who bought an ocarina this past December!

Well, its been an interesting 2010 and I am about half way to establishing a fully fledged ocarina business! I've sold out most of my ocarinas and more are on the way, so keep a lookout for those. This 2011 I've got a ton of things planned, (mainly producing the new ocarina models and setting up a website) and I'm looking forward to accomplishing these goals this year.

Look forward to my

  • 12 hole tenor Sweet Potato
  • 12 hole alto Sweet Potato
  • 9 hole Soprano Pendant
  • double and triple ocarinas
  • and of course the ever popular:
  • zelda ocarina of time replica

eBay auctions finally up!

check it out here, then if you're insterested come back here and read about it.

so, after all that hard work, we were finally able to put a page together that is acceptable to eBay. but with a bunch of compromises, the new design lacks all the cool javascript we wanted to include, and i ended up using the regular "object" tag for youtube videos(which is btw flash) instead of the iphone friendly ("iframe") tag.

finally, the page has launched. excited to see the pages online in eBay, we navigate our way in firefox to finding our ocarinas through the search bar. after clicking on each one we notice a lot of things are amiss. first of all, the main picture gallery buttons and the main picture itself were overlapping, (which wasn't a problem at all when you hit the preview button in eBay's auction form.) afterwards we checked the pages through google chrome and safari and find that the layout is even worse. what a disappointment! internet explorer doesn't even load the youtube video. we're not to concerned about that because no one nowadays really uses it since all the other browsers out there have been more user friendly and faster. second of all the pictures in each gallery were the versions that were not color balanced so every picture had a slight tan/pinkish hue to it.

after making all the necessary corrections, the auction page is finally somewhat in the way we want it to be. its not perfect but its definitely really good considering our past experience with web development tools.

html and all that internet language stuff.

i've been working super hard on getting the eBay page up for about a week and a half (the reason its taking so long is because i wasn't going to settle for a simple text and picture) and prior to all of this, i have had no experience whatsoever in html/css/javascript coding, which was what i needed to make a cool page.

so after a long 1 week and a half semester of learning and coding at the same time, i somehow managed to put a page together with the help of dynamicdrive.com and w3schools.com. my eBay page was complete with sweet javascript coding so people on iphones and other smartphones would be able to view the page without any restrictions (flash doesnt work on the iphone)

finally, i am now able to post an eBay auction for my ocarinas! i go to post my newly developed html into the html box for the auction form and i hit a roadblock!

unfortunately for me, eBay only allows certain functions of javascript and not all html is compatible! what a drag. i should've checked first...

but all is not lost, all i have to do now is revise the page to something eBay would accept and i have 1 and a half weeks of experience and knowledge of internet language coding! i am currently now fixing the page and it will definitely be up shortly. so stay posted!
